When he came to the Bay he was accompanied by his mother and her seven children. These Mr. Baker [sic] has done his full duty by, aiding his mother in caring for the children who were younger than himself.

Alexandria Bay. Jan. 3.—Mrs. Barker, an old and respected resident of this village, died at the residence of her son, Postmaster F. W. Barker, on Tuesday morning, Jan. 2, after an illness of several months. Mrs. Barker was 69[?] years of age, and always had been a devoted member of the M. E. church.
